Are machete attacks on the rise? It feels like we're sharing a story every week or 2 about someone going on a rampage with a machete. It's not the most common and accessible weapon but people seem to still have them and are ready to use them at the drop of a hat. Recently, there was a guy with a machete inside a grocery store and now it's an attack inside a man's own home! The incident happened in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Now, the man is facing 2 counts of attempted homicide.
Did A Florida Man Attack A Repairman With A Machete?
According to FOX 35 Orlando, 38-year-old Darrell Dean Roberts has been arrested after being accused of attacking a repairman and a woman with a machete inside his own home. Both of the victims reportedly sustained serious injuries in the attack but are expected to survive.
FOX 35 Orlando reports that a service worker was at Roberts' home conducting repairs when Roberts attacked him using a machete. Reports say a woman, who also lived in the residence, tried to help and intervene but was attacked as well with the machete. The names of the victims have not been released and it remains unclear what led to the attacks. Roberts has been arrested and has been charged with 2 counts of attempted homicide. He is currently in the Broward County Jail and law enforcement says there is no additional threat to the community. You can see Roberts' mugshot provided by the Broward County Sheriff's Office below.
