Michigan Woman’s Gluten-Free Mac & Cheese Nightmare Turns Into Massive Win

A Michigan woman's mac & cheese nightmare turned into a huge win. She scored lots of free products from Kraft and more!

Buying food and having it come not as advertised is always a problem and incredibly frustrating. For example, if you order Lucky Charms you expect it to come with marshmallows in addition to the cereal part. Otherwise it's basically useless! Similarly, you expect that when you order your Kraft Mac & Cheese that it would come with a cheese packet. That's the whole point! Otherwise it's just plain pasta noodles. Well, that's what happened to one woman in Michigan who tried to buy Gluten-Free Mac & Cheese but it kept coming without the cheese packet! Now, her story is going viral online.

Abbey Kreger, of Frankenmuth, Michigan, took to TikTok to talk about a mystery surrounding Kraft Gluten-Free Mac & Cheese missing cheese sauce packets. You definitely need those in order to enjoy your Mac & Cheese and that's no different whether you're trying to enjoy the original or a Gluten-Free Mac & Cheese. According to Today, Kreger has celiac disease and so she purchased multiple boxes of the Gluten-Free Mac & Cheese and was shocked to find that none of them had the cheese packets inside! Can you imagine how frustrating that would be? What a waste.

In a video that has since gone viral, Kreger says into the camera, "Hey, listen, this message is for Kraft Mac & Cheese. I'm gluten-free, and I have gotten now four boxes of gluten-free mac and cheese that do not have a sauce packet inside." Today reports that Kreger first bough 2 boxes and found the mistake and contacted customer service who sent her a voucher for 2 free replacement boxes at the store of her choice. She says she then bought those 2 boxes individually at different locations in different cities but still discovered the same issue! She continued on video, "So giving me a coupon to get another box of mac and cheese isn't solving the problem because Kraft Mac & Cheese is not addressing the problem. You guys are having a problem in production. I'm not being a Karen." That's a hilarious and much needed addition.

The video went on to get more than 3.2 million views and 12,000 comments with many claiming the same thing has been happening to them. Kraft responded in a comment saying, "Hello. We apologize for this issue. We're not having any quality issues with our gluten-free Kraft Mac and Cheese." She then asked why this keeps happening? That led to many people pointing out how the company mishandled the situation and dropped the ball. However, eventually she says a Kraft employee named Larry ended up calling saying that they hear her concerns and are sending a care package.

They weren't the only ones who heard about her story and decided to do something about it. In another video, she says California Pizza Kitchen also sent 4 gluten-free pizzas, and Instacart sent a bunch of stuff too. Stouffer's also sent some cheese sauce packets in a hilarious move. Actually, I won't even ask many of my friends to do a task like that. Additionally, asking a stranger to house sit can be a dangerous ask. Now, I'm supposed to trust them with my food? In their own vehicle? That's tough.

A lot can go wrong with a stranger picking up your food and handling it. First, they could obviously eat your food. A 10 piece nugget can very quickly turn into a 9 piece. Maybe they won't take a full nugget. They could just steal one fry. Hey, you'll never notice. They could also take a sip of your beverage.

However, consuming your food isn't the only bad thing they can do. They can spit on it. They can put their hands in it. There are no shortage of the weird things they could do to it. Sure, companies have started taking measures to prevent stuff like this happening. They'll staple or tape your bag shut. There's no a protective film over beverage cups. However, it doesn't seem to be enough. Drivers are still out there doing stuff--and getting caught doing it.

However, I do understand the frustration. Where were you? Why isn't this hot? I'd have so many questions. However, I would still eat it. I can microwave it myself. It's not worth going to jail over.
