Daredevil Breaks Record After Being Dragged Behind A Motorcycle At 159 Miles Per Hour
A British daredevil broke a Guinness World Record after being dragged behind a motorcycle going 159 miles per hour. That’s no easy feat.
Some Guinness World Records are harder to beat than others and I feel like this is one that won’t easily be broken not attempted. Few people would be able, or willing, to take this on. This British daredevil was dragged behind his motorcycle going 159 miles per hour! It can’t be easy and it definitely can’t be comfortable.
Daredevil Breaks Guinness World Record For Being Dragged Behind A Motorcycle
Going 159 miles per hour in a car would be challenging and incredibly scary. But at least you’re inside the car, protected, and sitting on a seat. This is much different than that. He’s being dragged behind a motorcycle! He’s not sitting on it, there’s no seatbelt, it wouldn’t be hard for it to go terribly wrong. Thankfully, it didn’t and now he has earned a spot in the Guinness World Records. That British daredevil is none other than Jonny Davies.
According to UPI, Davies took on the challenge at The Ultimate Supercar Show and had his feet planted on the ground while being dragged behind his souped up Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX at Elvington Airfield in Yorkshire, England. By going 159.52 miles per hour during the amazing stunt he earned a spot in the Guinness World Records for the fastest speed dragged behind a motorcycle, per UPI. The previous record of 156.3 was set by British stunt rider Gary Rothwell back in 1999. It stood for a long time but now there’s a new champion. What a drag. Boom boom cha. You can check out a video of the rare accomplishment below. Can you imagine how scary that would be?
It’s scary just to watch! I can’t imagine how he must feel doing it. I can’t wrap my head around how he’s able to move around and get to the back of the bike without falling off. I certainly lack that sort of balance.
Davies told The Yorkshire Post, “I knew it ws the fastest I had ever gone because the wind was so strong. My foot actually came off the floor because the wind went under it–it was a feeling I had never felt before, even in practice,” per UPI. For a stunt driver to say that, you know it has to be special conditions!
