Is Fireball Whisky Letting Sports Fans Drink Their Rivals’ Tears?
Is Fireball Whisky letting sports fans drink their rivals’ tears? That’s what it sounds like! Who’s thirsty?
You might have heard of Fireball Whisky, but what about…Crierball? Probably not! But football fans will soon be able to enjoy it. This week Fireball announced that it will be making one-of-a-kind whiskies crafted with real human tears. Um, excuse me? According to PEOPLE, the limited-edition Crierball will mix, “emotion with flavor for an unforgettable drinking experience.” They say it will, “capture the true spirit of game day, blending the emotion of nail-biting finishes and heartbreak with Fireball’s iconic cinnamon-sweet flavor.”
Fireball Whisky Coming Out With Crierball
Danny Suich, Global Brand Director for Fireball tells PEOPLE, “In football, few things–aside from Fireball, of course–are better than the sweet taste of victory, especially when that W comes at the expense of your biggest rivals. Our brand is all about embracing that competitive spirit but amping it up with a little more spice. We’re on a mission to capture the soul of rivarlies–a.ka. the tears of losers–at this season’s biggest games. The expected result? A one-of-a-kind whisky bottling that is sure to become the ultimate showpiece, allowing for supreme bragging rights next season.” Does this sound like something you would try? I know several college football fans who are all about their team and bringing their rivals sadness who would absolutely be willing to drink their rivals’ tears.
This is just the latest in weird branded products hitting store shelves. There was KFC BBQ perfume and more that came out recently. While it seems like they might just be attempts at grabbing headlines–they’re real products! Someone is actually out there using these weird creations and swearing by them. You know that these limited-edition whiskies are going to sell. It’s a great (although weird) idea. I could see Michigan fans wanting to drink the tears of Ohio State fans. The same way I would think Steelers fans would love to drink Ravens fans tears and Yankees fans would drink Red Sox fans tears. Rivalries in sports are weird! People have strange traditions and superstitions. Have you seen clips of some of these fans at games? They go all out! They paint their bodies, faces, and even beards. They show up in strange outfits and stay in them for the entire game! They love their team or their school more than their family sometimes! It’s not normal! However, that’s the culture.
