On Sunday, the Detroit Lions put on an offensive showcase against the Tennessee Titans. Throttling the Titans 52-14, much of the Lions' success was due to Detroit’s Offensive Line and Jahmyr Gibbs. The Lions' second-year running back was amazing in his performance. He’s about to make the leap from star to Superstar if he hasn’t already

Jahmyr Gibbs and his Superstar Performance

Jahmyr Gibbs rushed for 127 yards on 11 carries and added a touchdown. Gibbs did explode for a 70-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter. With an impressive 11.5 yards per carry for the game, Jahmyr Gibbs should be very grateful of his Offensive line. As usual, the Lions again showed everyone why they’re the number 1 ranked Offensive Line in the National Football League. Jared Goff had an extraordinarily unique yet effective game.

Goff certainly did his part in Sunday’s win over the Titans. But the Lions Quarterback passed for three touchdowns and completed 12 of his 15 passes. But he only mustered up 85 yards through the air. The best part was that thanks to Jahmyr Gibbs and the offensive line, Goff did not need to do anything more.

Lions Defense was Superb

Sam Laporta had a bit of a breakout game for Detroit, racking up about 50 receiving yards, six receptions, and a score. Lastly, we cannot forget about the defense. The Lions' defense played lights out once again. Sure, they gave up 416 yards of total offense. But Detroit’s defense beautifully applied the “bend don’t break” tactic. The defense managed to continuously get the ball back with a short field which was the key in the offensive explosion.

With defense, offense, and amazing coaching, the Detroit Lions are destined for great things this season as they continue on their Super Bowl run. If there was ever a year, this is their year! A much-improved defense, star backs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, and Jared Goff behind a dominant offensive line are huge reasons for their success and prove why they’re arguably the best team in the NFL. Detroit will face off against the Green Bay Packers next Sunday at 4:25 P.M. at Lambeau Field in Wisconsin.
