Ohio Man Shot Dead After Jokingly Asking A Friend To Shoot Him
An Ohio man was shot dead after jokingly asking a friend to shoot him! Don’t ask someone to shoot you as a joke!
They might actually end up doing it! People don’t always get the joke even when it should be incredibly clear. You can’t joke around about stuff like that! This incident happened in Westwood, Ohio and it left the man dead!
Was An Ohio Man Shot Dead After Jokingly Asking A Friend To Shoot Him?
According to Local 12, Kathleen Geiger is accused of shooting Arthur Osborne in the groin at an apartment on East Tower Drive. It all started with some harmless banter where he jokingly requested she shoot him, per Local 12. Well, unfortunately, that harmless banter ended up turning into something quite harmful.
Local 12 reports that Geiger told authorities she believed the firearm was empty at the time of the firing. She did end up providing medical aid and called 911 but they were unable to save the man. She has since been charged with recklessly causing the death of Osborne and is being held on a $10,000 bond, per Local 12. You can see a video report by FOX 19 NOW on YouTube below.
Use this as a lesson so you don’t have to learn it yourself first hand. If someone asks you to shoot them…don’t do it! Also, maybe don’t joke around asking someone to shoot you. You never know how it might end. Stick with more practical jokes or something more simple and innocent.
Geiger is 77-years-old. She now is facing a possibility of 3 years behind bars. Even as kids I feel like we were always told even if a gun is not loaded don’t fire it. You never know if there might be a stray in there or something. So, don’t assume that it isn’t loaded and the best thing to do is avoid ever pointing a gun at someone and if you do make sure not to pull the trigger! It sounds like there are many ways this could go from here and it’s a waiting game now.
What’s the lesson here? Don’t jokingly ask a friend to shoot you because you don’t know if they might end up listening to you for some reason. Playing around and joking with guns is never a good idea even for someone experienced with handling firearms. Don’t joke around about that kind of stuff!
