Chubby Dog Gets Stuck In A Fence In Viral Video

A chubby dog got stuck in a fence in a viral video. Yes, it's as adorable as you're likely picturing it.

Dogs are man's best friend, we all know that. Maybe it's because of how loyal they are. Maybe it's because they're just like a part of the family. Maybe it's because they're relatable to us with their mistakes and mishaps. This dog didn't realize how much weight it put on and it couldn't slide through the fence. Perhaps at one point it could have but not any more. This poor chubby dog actually got stuck in the fence and had to be rescued!

The incident happened over in Australia where a man is now being hailed as a hero after rescuing the chubby dog that was stuck in the fence gate. Stephen Morando (@papamoandwillow) shared the video on TikTok showing the moment he came to the aid of the chubby pup who somehow wedged himself between the bars of the front gate at home.

Morando tells Newsweek, "I had just picked my kids up from kindergarten and was heading home when I drove past this house. Not believing what I'd just seen, I hit the brakes and backed up." He was quickly able to realize that the chubby dog might have been served too many treats because it got stuck in the fence while trying to escape. It wasn't going anywhere, though. The internet is now loving the dog and the guy who came to help. However, it's also being reminded that while chubby dogs like this are cute it can actually be a major health concern as well. According to Newsweek, 59% of domesticated dogs in the United States are considered overweight. I never realized that before!

Thankfully, he was able to quickly free the dog to get him unstuck. Now, the TikTok video has received more than 326,000 views and continues to climb. Commenters are praising his actions and mentioning how cute the dog is. Other commenters are sharing stories of their chubby puppy and how this dogs reminds them of theirs. I guess it could be pretty relatable considering 59% of dogs here in the USA are considered overweight. That stat is going to stick with me for a while and change the way I look at dogs.
