Meet The 38-Pound Rescue Cat From Russia
Meet Kroshik the 38-pound rescue cat from Russia. That’s one big cat! How does the orange tabby cat feel about Mondays?
In Russian, “Kroshik” translates to “Crumbs” and it seems to be a fitting name for the 38-pound rescue cat. That’s the size of a dog! Now, he’s been put on a diet which means no more cookies and soup. Thankfully, he seems to be in good hands.
38-Pound Rescue Cat Found In Russia
Seriously, Kroshik is like a real life Garfield. He’s orange, he likes food, and he is a big boy. Honestly, I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a cat that weighs that much! It sounds like he got a little bit spoiled while living in the basement of a hospital where he was constantly fed by well-meaning staff with biscuits and soup. That would be a nice life for a cat.
According to Daily Mail, it’s believed he was abandoned by his owners which is why he was living in the basement of the hospital. That breaks my heart. It’s always sad to hear about people leaving their pets behind and abandoning them. My rescue dog, Farley, was abandoned by his previous family who brought him to the shelter saying they found him on the streets but then after looking at his chip it was determined he was that family’s pet. Thankfully, he’s since found a loving home. However, these types of stories always get to me.
Thankfully, Kroshik seems to be living his best life now that he’s been rescued by animal refuge workers in Perm, Russia. He’s adorable and he is massive! Daily Mail has photos of staff holding him and even knowing that he’s 38-pounds it’s still surprising to see the scale of just how big he is. It makes sense given that they named him Kroshik because of his ability to hoover up every scrap of food leaving no crumbs behind. In fact, according to Daily Mail he was so overweight he was unable to walk. Doctors and vet staff pointed out that it seems like being overly loved can be a problem and he didn’t need that diet people were feeding him while living in the basement of a hospital.
