Chicago Uber Driver Threw Brick At Home After Receiving A 1-Star Review
A Chicago Uber driver reportedly threw a brick at someone’s house after receiving a 1-star review. That certainly won’t help his cause.
If you often use a ride share service, chances are high that you’ve had at least one strange ride. Maybe the driver played strange music, maybe they wouldn’t listen to you, or maybe they threw a brick at your house. That’s what happened in Chicago, Illinois.
Why Did A Chicago Uber Driver Throw A Brick At A Home?
Nobody wants to receive a poor review regarding their work. That’s the same whether you work in an office or if you’re a ride share driver. However, it’s how you react to receiving the poor review that matters. You could use it as a learning moment or you could totally freak out and have it lead to your arrest. The choice is yours. Unfortunately, this Chicago Uber driver chose violence.
According to ABC 7 Chicago, a suburban woman is claiming her home and car were damaged after a confrontation with an Uber driver the day after her son gave the driver a 1-star rating. That’s something I never really thought about–these ride share drivers know where you live! They literally just took you there. So, if there’s a problem they know exactly where to find you. That can be a massive problem! Just like it proved to be here.
ABC 7 Chicago reports that the confrontation resulted in property damage to her home, including a cracked front window, and scratches and dents to her car. It sounds like she’s still shaken–as you’d expect! You’d never imagine the ride share driver returning to your home to vandalize it over the review your son left.
Why Did The Uber Driver Receive A 1-Star Rating?
ABC 7 Chicago reports that the 17-year-old son claims the driver appeared agitated during the ride, was driving erratically, and ignored his suggestions to take the expressway. After the ride, he gave the driver a 1-star review and the next day, he showed up at their front door, per ABC 7 Chicago! The outlet says the driver claimed to be there because someone left something and when she refused to open the door he started freaking out.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Uber says, “The described conduct is unacceptable. We’re continuing to investigate this report and will take appropriate action. We are standing ready to assist police however we can,” via ABC 7 Chicago. Law enforcement is now investigating the matter. I think I’ll avoid taking ride share services for now. I definitely don’t want anybody showing up at my place. See more on the Chicago Uber driver below!
