Rhode Island Man Hospitalized After Bar Fight Over Jukebox Song Selection
A Rhode Island man was hospitalized after a bar fight allegedly over a Jukebox song selection! You have to be careful what songs you pick!
There have been times where M’Lady has played ABBA at a bar on the jukebox and I thought we’d get kicked out of the bar. There were definitely some faces and maybe a few groans, but we remained in the bar and were not attacked. This guy at a bar in Providence, Rhode Island was not as lucky!
Rhode Island Man Hospitalized After Bar Fight Over Jukebox Song Selection
In comedy, the number one rule is to know your audience. Apparently, that same rule applies to Jukebox song selection. He was reportedly beaten and dragged out of the bar for it!
According to Go Local Prov, the incident happened at Deadbeats Bar on Knight Street. A male victim in his 40s reportedly said 3 men started a fight with him over his Jukebox song selection. According to Go Local Prov, the victim says the suspects dragged him outside and began assaulting him. He reportedly lost consciousness and believed his jaw was broken during the fight. Police who responded to the scene did obverse a cut on his chin that was still bleeding and he had some severe swelling on the side of his face, per Go Local Prov. He was taken to the Rhode Island Hospital to treat his injuries.
Unfortunately, there’s no word on what the Jukebox song selection was! It looks like a rough bar so maybe he played something too soft? Did he play a Barry Manilow record? Did he go throwback with some Backstreet Boys? Please, don’t tell me that it was ABBA. That means we could be next!
I’ve never felt comfortable playing songs on the Jukebox. You never know if there’s a regular there who has a problem with a certain song or band. I don’t want to end up getting yelled at or fought–I don’t even want to be the reason someone rolls their eyes! So, I’ll leave the song selections to other people. There’s just too much at risk. Plus, I’m not going to be there long. I want to get in and get out. I can play my favorite radio station that plays all of my favorite songs on the way home. No need to risk losing my jaw because I wanted to play some Ween at the bar. It’s not worth it.
