Ronnie Wood and Steve Harris are members of two of the biggest bands to ever emerge from the U.K.: The Rolling Stones and Iron Maiden. Now, the guitarist and bassist have another thing in common: Their children just married each other!
Per the U.K.'s Daily Mail, Wood's son, Tyrone, and Harris' daughter, Faye, got married on July 26 at Marylebone Old Town Hall in London. Both fathers were in attendance for the nuptials. Wood was dressed in a black suit, with a blue button-up shirt with a black butterfly print. Meanwhile, Harris donned a blue/gray plaid suit, with a blue button-up shirt and a gray tie.
Tyrone and Faye told Hello!, "It was a magical day celebrating with our family and friends in London." The couple went public with their relationship in 2022, and Tyrone popped the question in December 2023.
It was actually Ronnie who shared with the press that Tyrone and Faye were getting married. He shared with The Sun, "Ty and Faye are getting married straight after the [Hackney Diamonds] tour. That is going to be amazing."
The Rolling Stones wrapped their Hackney Diamonds tour on July 17 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. In June, Ronnie talked about how his "new high" has been performing live. He told The Sun, "The adrenalin high is stronger than any drug or alcohol. The natural high is the best one you can have, it exceeds drugs or alcohol."
Ronnie has been clean and sober since 2010 and has been very open about his struggles with addiction. He also told The Sun that his drink of choice these days is green juices, and he enjoys working out with his trainer to "keep my circulation going."
Mick Jagger Spotted at the Paris Olympics
While Ronnie Wood's post-Rolling Stones tour plans involved a wedding, Mick Jagger's involved going to Paris to take in the Summer Olympics.
Jagger was one of many celebrities spotted at the Olympics this past weekend. Per People, he was seen with his 8-year-old son, Deveraux, at a fencing event. Despite being the most iconic frontman in the world, Jagger dressed down for the event, wearing a navy blue baseball hat and a zip-up white and gray hoodie.
Deveraux's mother is Jagger's 37-year-old girlfriend Melanie Hamrick, a former ballerina at the American Ballet Theatre who is now a choreographer and author.
Deveraux is the youngest of Jagger's eight children. His oldest child, Karis Hunt Jagger, is 53. Jagger has five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo got married on February 20, 1982. They remain one of the longest-lasting marriages in classic rock. They're also among the most successful.
Benatar and Giraldo were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as part of the 2022 induction class. Interestingly, Benatar was asked in a 2021 interview with CBS Sunday Morning whether it bothered her to not be in the Rock Hall. She said then that it didn't and noted, "Listen, when you win things, it's really fun. But the point is, does this validate, not validate what we've done? No."
Together, they've sold over 35 million albums worldwide. Benatar has also won countless honors, including four Grammy Awards. The husband and wife pairing even collaborated on a stage musical called Invincible -- The Musical. As previously reported, Invincible -- The Musical is a new reworking of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. The production features versions of many of the songs Benatar and Giraldo have written and performed together for over 40 years.
In a September 2013 interview with the Arizona Republic, Benatar fondly looked back on meeting Giraldo. She said the first song they recorded together was the hit "Heartbreaker." Benatar said she and Giraldo clicked instantly. Even though there was a definite attraction from the beginning, Benatar was still married, and Giraldo was also in a relationship.
" ... We made [1979's 'In the Heat of the Night'] not romantically involved, which was a challenge," said Benatar. "Which is what made it so much fun, and I think you can hear all that on that record."
Needless to say, Benatar and Giraldo have more than defied the odds against them. However, Benatar and Giraldo are far from the only music marriage that has gone the distance. In honor of Benatar and Giraldo's anniversary, here are some of classic rock's other longest-lasting marriages.
