2 Women Accused Of Stealing $6K In Merchandise In Florida
FOX 25 Orlando reports that 2 women have been arrested in Port Charlotte, Florida for their alleged involvement in multiple organized shoplifting thefts across the state. They reportedly racked up a $6,000 bill during their spree. Deputies received a tip from an employee at a Burlington store that two women were allegedly stealing.
According to FOX 35 Orlando, when deputies arrived to the store they discovered 2 women loading stolen merchandise into a 2024 Hyundai Tucson with California license plates. The pair of women have been identified as Carla Stephany Soto Araneda and Genesi Michael Flores Reyes.
Officers found large amounts of clothing inside the car in plain view with tags from Marshalls and Ross along with tools used to remove anti-theft devices, per FOX 35 Orlando. The vehicle was reportedly towed to an impound lot where they found more than $6K worth of merchandise from multiple retail stores. FOX 35 Orlando says the women allegedly stole $417.77 from Burlington, $2,703.86 from Marshalls, and $3,134.32 from Ross which adds up to a massive $6,255.95!
It turns out, the pair of women drove from California to Florida to execute a shoplifting spree across the state including stops in Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando, and Miami. FOX 35 Orlando also reports that both of the women are living in the country illegally. Bold move to make a cross country shoplifting spree when you’re already in the country illegally! Not the smartest decision.
