Slipknot Confirms New Drummer, Announces 25th Anniversary Tour
Slipknot shared two major pieces of news on Tuesday (April 30): The identity of their new drummer and tour dates celebrating the 25th anniversary of their self-titled debut studio album.
First, the metal band shared that their new drummer is Eloy Casagrande. Eagle-eyed fans and other news outlets like Loudwire noted Casagrande was tagged in the post below showing the current lineup of Slipknot.
Casagrande, of course, replaces Jay Weinberg, who was let go from the band in November 2023. Following his ouster, Weinberg issued a lengthy statement via — Jay Weinberg (@jayweinbergdrum) November 11, 2023" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">social media saying he was fired from Slipknot and detailing his thoughts on the entire situation.
He wrote, in part, “I was heartbroken and blindsided to receive the phone call that I did on the morning of November 5th; the news of which, most of you learned shortly after. However, I’ve been overwhelmed by — and truly grateful for — the outpouring of love and support I’ve received from this incredible community I consider to be my creative and artistic home.”
