Trying to get a person's phone number can be difficult. You have to be clever in your attempt in order to stand out from the crowd. However, there's a right way and a wrong way to stand out. You don't want to do what this guy did. Here's a lesson in how not to get a woman's phone number.

You can drop a cheesy one-liner. Perhaps you could even kindly deliver a compliment. There's no shortage of ways you can attempt to get that phone number. Here's one way to definitely don't want to go about that.

According to court records, Layton Paul Nauman went to the beach hoping to arrange a sexual encounter or perhaps just go home with someone's phone number.

Now, when you're at a nude beach there's a certain set of unwritten (and probably written, too?) rules you're expected to follow. Well, Nauman did not. Police in Jensen Beach, Florida received complaints about lewd behavior on Blind Creek Beach pathways. That's when an officer discovered Nauman naked and seated in a recliner with a hat over his face, per The Smoking Gun.

An arrest report obtained by The Smoking Gun says an explicit "genital presentation" was observed by the cop. Reports say he gave a note to a passerby saying, "Please feel free to investigate! Gently."

Nauman was arrested for indecent exposure. This is why we can't have nice things! A nude beach would be a nice place to relax. Everyone is free and comfortable...at least they should be! Doing this is totally unacceptable! People should feel comfortable anywhere, especially a place like that. Why he'd think that's a good way to get a phone number is beyond me. I don't think that move has ever worked.
