Former Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles RB D’Andre Swift Signs with Bears
Detroit Lions fans are going to see a lot of former Lion RB D’Andre Swift next season, but he’s not coming back to Detroit. The Chicago Bears are signing him to a three-year, $24.5 million deal, including $15.3 million guaranteed. This news comes from agent Trevon Smith at Athletes First via ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
RB D’Andre Swift to the Chicago Bears
Swift was most recently with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles brought Swift on April for a 2025 fourth-round pick and an exchange of seventh-round picks. It seemed like a great fit, since Swift was a Philadelphia native. Swift also performed very well for the Eagles, setting career highs in rushing attempts (229) and yards (1,049). He also appeared at the Pro Bowl this year. So, he’s definitely a good pick for the Bears. As a Detroit Lions fan, I’m a bit worried about the NFC North this coming season. It’s going to be strong, and it’ll be harder for the Lions to top it.
In other NFC North news, the Green Bay Packers have released David Bakhtiari. “I always wanted to raise a Lombardi on Lombardi avenue, but I will never complain,” he said on A lot of emotion in this. I just want to say THANK YOU Green Bay. Thank you for the last 11 years. It’s been a hell of a run. I always wanted to raise a Lombardi on Lombardi avenue, but I will never complain. I gave it my all. I always gave it my best no matter the circumstance… pic.twitter.com/dnc7gkKSAC
