Florida Man Robs House After Homeowner Invites Him In For A Beer
This Florida Man story started friendly, but it didn’t end that same way. This Florida Man robbed a house after the homeowner invited him inside for a beer.
Bruce Hudson was arrested and charged with burglary with assault or better, criminal mischief, aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony, and larceny grand theft, according to Fox 35.
Florida Man Robs Home After Being Offered Beer
The incident happened at a residence in Umatilla, Florida, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the scene and were alerted to a possible burglary. According to Fox 35, the homeowner said an unidentified man was walking in front of his house and asked him if he could have something to drink because he was feeling thirsty.
The victim then reportedly invited the man inside his home to grab him some water, but the man requested a beer instead. Probably not the most polite move as a house guest. However, it gets worse.
Fox 32 reports when the homeowner went back to the kitchen to fetch the man a beer, Hudson went into the victim’s bedroom and began going through his belongings.
Don’t Invite Strangers Into Your Home
When the homeowner asked the man to stop, Fox 35 says the man responded by punching him in the nose. According to Fox 35, after being punched the victim went outside in an attempt to alert his neighbors. While asking for help, Fox 35 says the man grabbed a “mallet-style hammer” and destroyed a wall and shattered a glass table.
According to Fox 35, Hudson then allegedly threatened the homeowner with said hammer before running out the back door with a bag and several other items from the home.
Per Fox 35, Hudson allegedly grabbed “the homeowner’s immigration papers, passport, laptop, iPad, three watches, and a gold ring.”
Deputies soon caught up with Hudson and located the bag and stolen belongings. However, Hudson denied taking anything from the house, according to Fox 35. After finding the items, Hudson told police he was set up by his friend “Frankie,” per Fox 35.
This is why you don’t invite random strangers outside of your home inside! If anything, maybe bring him a water outside. Don’t bring him into your home! No good can come from that.
