The Detroit Red Wings have revealed their promotional calendar and fan giveaway items for the 2023-24 season. Throughout the season, the team will host 18 weekend home games, featuring events for fans to enjoy. These include the season opener against the Tampa Bay Lightning on October 14, Sweden Night against the Montreal Canadiens on November 9, Thanksgiving Eve against the New Jersey Devils on November 22, Kids Day against the Minnesota Wild on November 26, New Year’s Eve against the Boston Bruins on December 31, and Fan Appreciation Night against the Montreal Canadiens on April 15.

A significant event on the calendar is Mike Vernon Hockey Hall of Fame Night, taking place on December 9 against the Ottawa Senators. This night will honor Mike Vernon, who received the Conn Smythe Trophy during the Red Wings’ 1997 Stanley Cup victory.

New features for Red Wings games

The team will also host three "Hockeytown Heritage" Nights during the season: December 14th against the Carolina Hurricanes, January 25 against the Philadelphia Flyers, and February 22 against the Colorado Avalanche. These nights will celebrate different eras of Red Wings hockey and feature special Stick Case giveaways for Dominik Hasek, Sergei Fedorov, and Darren McCarty.

Additionally, there will be four Bobblehead Nights featuring Tomas Holmstrom, Jake Walman, Alex DeBrincat, and Brendan Shanahan. These events will take place on November 9, January 21, March 2, and March 16.

Returning fan-favorite ticket packages include Star Wars Night on October 26 against the Winnipeg Jets, the "Love Your Melon" beanie giveaways on November 9th and November 30 for the annual "Hockey Fights Cancer" game, and Tigers Night on April 5th, featuring a co-branded Red Wings/Tigers hat giveaway.

In line with the NHL’s Hockey is for Everyone initiative, Pride Night is scheduled for January 31 against the Ottawa Senators at Little Caesars Arena. Additionally, Black History Night is planned for February 24 against the St. Louis Blues, followed by Women’s History Night on March 14 against the Arizona Coyotes.
