Michigan Bakery One of the Top 12 in the U.S.
Michigan is not at a loss for great, tasty bakeries. We seriously have so many delicious, locally-owned bakeries in this state, and one of my favorite things to do it try a local bakery when I’m in a new city. That said, it shouldn’t be a big surprise that a Michigan bakery has been named one of the top 12 best in the U.S.
The study comes from Restaurantclicks.com, who had the awesome task of trying different bakeries around America. They picked just 12 to highlight, and one of those was in Michigan. “Beautiful baked goods have a way of making your day just a bit brighter,” they state. “If you are looking for the perfect baked good, the ideal place to start is at one of the country’s best bakeries?”
The bakeries they highlighted are in California, Texas, Oregon, Maine, Massachusetts, Tennessee, New York, the Carolinas and, yes, Michigan. That means Michigan has the sole Midwest bakers on this list, which is very special. Talk about having some Michigan pride.
So, which Michigan bakery was named one of the top 12 in the U.S.? Sister Pie, located at 8066 Kercheval Avenue in Detroit. I do agree that’s a special bakery. “While Sister Pie is known primarily for its decadent pies made in Detroit, Michigan, this bakery also offers amazing cookies, breakfast, and lunch offerings,” Restaurant Clicks states. “This bakery loves trying unexpected flavor combinations and making Michigan’s seasonal ingredients the star of the show.” If you’re in the area soon, you should really try that spot. I personally think the cookies look delicious, but everything looks great. I also hear that their BLT is really good. Oh, and their pies are also superstars, so make note of that.
