Bad drivers come in all shapes and sizes, and we’ve all encountered them on the road. You have the ones who seem perpetually lost and indecisive on the roads to the aggressive speed demons who treat highways like personal racetracks. It’s like every town has its own special collection of terrible drivers. Leaving some people convinced that their hometown takes the cake for the worst of the worst. Whether it’s the overly cautious grannies going 10 miles below the speed limit or the crazy teenagers weaving in and out of traffic, you can’t escape the frustrations of dealing with lousy drivers. But, where are the worst drivers in America?
The ConsumerAffairs Research Team opted for a data-driven strategy to find the cities with the worst drivers. Their study involved analyzing an array of data points sourced from the U.S. Department of Transportation. These points include various factors such as the frequency of fatal crashes, the number of fatalities attributed to reckless driving, incidents involving driving under the influence, and the prevalence of speeding in fatal accidents. By calculating this data into a comprehensive “crash score,” the team managed to rank cities based on the severity of their driving woes.
Michigan taps into the Top 10.
Detroit managed to make it onto their list at number 7. According to the study, Detroit drivers need improvement. The rate of fatal crashes caused by bad driving is about double the national average at 12.
Who ranked at number one for worst drivers?
Taking the top spot on their list is Memphis, Tennessee. The study revealed that Memphis has the highest rate of fatal crashes caused by bad driving; Apparently, 5.6 times higher than the national average.
Analyzing crash data also gave their research team insight into which states have the best drivers. According to the site, Green Bay, Wisconsin takes that title.

5 New Car Features People Struggle With The Most
Nowadays, it seems like car manufactures and designers are putting more and more features in new cars. Sometimes, it’s to make the car sleeker in appearance or give the car or give the driver more benefits with their vehicle. Many drivers can become intimidated or overwhelmed by the technology of cars. From cruise control and assisted parking to Bluetooth connection and more.
In a poll by SWNSDigital.com, they found the top new car features people struggle with the most. They gathered their data by polling 500 car owners with vehicles less than two years old. The results showed 20 pieces of technology in a car that “baffle modern car owners.”
According to the poll, 68 percent of the “struggle to get to grips with everything.” While 40 percent don’t believe they’re using their car to its full potential. Also found in the research, is that it took about six months for 55 percent to discover their car came with certain features.
Dr Martha Newson, cognitive psychologist who facilitated the consumer study said they proved that over half of drivers are missing out on the full experience of their vehicle. “With any car purchase being one of life’s bigger spends, drivers should take more time understanding the tech available at their fingertips, so they don’t miss out on safer, more comfortable and more pleasurable experiences, every time they get in the car,” said Newson.
The feature that most people feel that they aren’t using happens to be cruise control. It’s been around for quite some time. Surprisingly, at the bottom of the list is blind-spot alert, massage seats, and 360-degree cameras. Some may find features like a heated steering wheel, remote engine start, and climate control easy.
