The snake was likely around 20 years old and put up a big fight with the hunters. When the net didn’t work to capture the huge reptile one of the hunters jumped on it and tried to capture it. The snake fought back!
The hunters had to fight the snake off of them as it tried to wrap them up and strangle them to survive.
