On a recent episode of my Talkin' Rock podcast, guitarist Richie Faulkner talked about his band Elegant Weapons, and gave an update on Judas Priest. "Well, at the moment we're finishing off what's going to be the next record." He said he visited Rob Halford in Phoenix a few weeks back, as him and producer Andy Sneap are working on lyrics. "The vocals are the last thing to finish before it's recorded. Then we have to mix it, master it, package it, do the art work and that process as well." He went on "As far as recording, it's almost done...I can't wait for you guys to hear it." He didn't give a timetable for its release as there's a lot to complete with manufacturing and more.

As far as the one song that turned him into a rock/metal fan? He didn't hesitate when I asked him that. "Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix. Yeah, man! I was born long after Hendrix died, but, ya know, that music's timeless and it's still around. Kids are getting influenced by it today. Just the way that song comes in, it's other worldly." He went on to talk about not only sonically, but visually as a young kid watching he said "What is it and how can I make my life about it? That's what turned me onto the guitar in the first place."
