Saving Abel’s Jared Weeks Gives Details Of Rejoining The Band, New Music, And Lots More
Always great to reconnect with Jared Weeks! We stared off the conversation by talking about playing for the troops overseas. The love for the military runs deep in the band and his family.
He talked about leaving and rejoining the band. Jared’s always been very candid about his struggles. Leaving the band was an act of self-preservation. “”I just didn’t have the tools to live in reality at the volume of 11.” He had to get himself together, through therapy and more, to straighten up his life.
He tells me what the other guys in the band have going on. New music? Yes, it’s coming. He talked about the cover song that he did with the band No Resolve. As far as Saving Abel, the single called “Baptize Me” drops on April 14th. “We’ve focused more on hard riff, double bass, more rock and roll type music.” He said the music has more of a mission and purpose.
He became very emotional when I brought up the passing of Wayne Swinny from Saliva. Wayne was a great friend to many in the music business, Saving Abel no exception. Jared told a story of joining the Wayne on stage last year.
That’s just for starters with Jared……loved talking with him. Solid dude!
They play the new District 142 on July 5th.

District 142 In Wyandotte Is Officially Open
In case you haven’t heard, District 142 in Wyandotte opened with a star studded bang on Friday night. What a beautiful venue!! Two floors of great sightlines to see your favorite bands.
The night kicked off with the local band The Stone Blossoms, but cranked up fast when Uncle Kracker took to the stage. Following Kracker, Jade and myself introduced the next surprise act, Leigh and Nick from Pop Evil. They did an acoustic set with help from Kracker guitarist, Mike Adkins. Sponge closed out the opening night with their typical blistering set of classics.
The RIFF has a couple shows lined up, Saliva on March 24th and Saving Abel on July 5th. Keep it on WRIF for more show announcements coming. In the meantime, get down to Wyandotte and see this amazing music club.
