Detroit Pistons Fans Are Angry
We love our sports here in Michigan, even when our teams aren’t doing well. I was among the many Detroit Lions fans who were thrilled to see the team do well in the 2022 season, and we’re stoked for the future. But, another Michigan sports team is not so lucky and currently has some of the angriest fans in America.
Gambling.com recently conducted a story to find which teams have the angriest fans in the NBA. “With the season getting ever closer to the business end of the year, for a lot of NBA fans, emotions can start to flair a lot more than usual and NBA fans around the world take to social media to vent their frustrations with their team – but which fanbase has been the angriest on social media this season?” they state in the article.
As for methodology, Gambling.com looked at “social listening tools to analyze the negative and angry reactions to every NBA team’s social media posts since the beginning of the season in order to rank the Angriest Fanbases in the NBA.”
The No. 1 angriest fans are rooting for the Dallas Mavericks. They have 14.53% of the reactions and posts about them across social media being negative or angry. Coming in at No. 2 is the Memphis Grizzlies, and No. 3, yes, is the Detroit Pistons. For the latter, the average negativity on social media is 12.27%. Apparently, Detroit Pistons fans take to Facebook, Twitter and Reddit to blow off steam about the team’s season. As for the most “level-headed fans,” that honor goes to the Cleveland Cavaliers, with average negativity at just 4.17%. Find more information about Gambling.com here.
