Is it spring in Michigan yet? It's actually felt much warmer than most winters all year, with temperatures in the 40s many days, but winter isn't finished with Michigan yet.

Another round of snow is projected to reach Michigan later this week. This is in line with a weather storm pattern that's currently traveling across America and heading our way.

The next snow event is slated to hit Michigan going into this Friday (March 10). According to Weather.com, most areas of lower Michigan have a 90% chance of getting significant snow on Friday. They are also "watching a potential winter storm" for the day. It's early, but projections have Detroit, Lansing and Flint getting 3-5 inches of snow, and Grand Rapids getting 1-3 inches of snow. Of course, these totals could go up or down, so that's why there's a possibility of a more severe storm.

The timeline for the snow has the event starting across Lower Michigan very early on Friday morning. It will start on the west coast and move east, making Friday afternoon the time with the heaviest amounts of snow. The storm should be over by late Friday night and early Saturday morning. Even if the snow totals aren't high, since temperatures aren't projected to get up into the 40s next weekend, the difference between the upcoming storm and last week's is that the snow probably won't melt right away. We'll keep you posted on additional updates. Stay warm.
