Kelsea Ballerini will be making her first appearance on NBC's Saturday Night Live on Match 4 as the musical guest. Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce will host the show. Kelsea joins a select group, including Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, Kacey Musgraves, Blake Shelton, Garth Brooks, and more, in being the musical guest on the legendary comedy sketch show.

Ballerini posted to Instagram, "it's not 7 am, and i'm not on a mountain with a view but i am in my living room screaming, crying, and throwing up. see you march 4th on @nbcsnl."

Fans were thrilled with the news, and many responded to the post with one writing, "You know you've made it when you're on SNL. But you've been fabulous for years." Another fan commented, "Can't wait to watch!" One more fan asked, "How do we get tix to see you there LIVE?!"

At midnight on Valentine's Day (2/14), Balleri released a surprise EP. There are six songs on Rolling Up the Welcome Mat and an accompanying short film. The project reflects the last several months in Ballerini's life, including a from her husband of five years, Morgan Evans.

Kelsea said in a statement about the project, "I wasn't worried about anything other than presenting the songs as honestly as possible. Most of them started with me and my guitar." She added, "I was writing by myself for most of the project, and it was nice to trust myself again. The only way I've been able to handle my life since I was 12 was to write about it. Ironically, I started writing music because my parents got divorced; that was my therapy. Rolling Up The Welcome Mat was how I processed everything. It's the way I got my feelings out of my body and heart and put them to music, which is the purest way I could've handled it."
