BBQ season is really in the summer months, but there's nothing wrong with enjoying some flavorful, juicy BBQ in the winter months. Michigan, undoubtedly, has some of the best BBQ you’ll taste anywhere.

That said, the folks at The Food Network have tried lots of BBQ across America and have named one Michigan spot the best in the state. They call the new feature the, "50 States of Barbecue." In it, they state, "The American South is rich in culinary history, and slow-smoked meat might just be its greatest export. While Southerners have been smoking livestock since the Colonial days, barbecue has spread well beyond the Mason-Dixon line to states as far afield as Alaska and Hawaii. From traditional Carolina whole hog to Hill Country brisket to Memphis ribs, here are the best barbecue joints in every U.S. state."

So, what's No. 1 in Michigan? Blue Tractor Barbeque. Of the spot, The Food Network states, "This 1886 saloon has had many incarnations over its 150-or-so-year lifetime, but it’s long been a meeting place for local farmers who worked the land. It still is, but with a meaty twist. Blue Tractor is named for those cultivators of the past and for the present growers who supply many of the items in the kitchen."

The network adds, "The menu covers a wide range of Midwestern classics, including burgers and deep-dish pizzas, yet the ’cue is what draws the crowds. Locals love the spice-rubbed, slow-smoked, hand-pulled pork and hickory-smoked chicken coated with bourbon-chipotle barbecue sauce. Both are served with a hearty helping of buttermilk mashers and fresh vegetables." Sounds delicious. Find the full tally for all 50 states here.

"Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives," hosted by Guy Fieri on the Food Network, is one of the most popular shows for food lovers. There's just something super entertaining about Fieri, and the show is so fun to watch. What's extra cool is that Fieri has come to Michigan multiple times and picked local restaurants to highlight on the show.

TVFoodmaps.com has compiled a full directory of all the restaurants that have appeared on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives." Think of this as a list of spots every Michigan food lover should visit. Some of these restaurants are familiar to me, like Krazy Jim's Blimpy Burger, while others I are not. My parents actually live just a few miles from Zaytoon Mediterranean in Lansing, Michigan, and I had no idea they were featured on the show until now. They do have some great Miditerranean food. Which are your favorite Michigan spots that you think should be featured on the show? Reach out to me on social media and give me some recommendations!

In total, Fieri has highlights 16 different Michigan restaurants on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives." What can I say- we have some great eating spots here! View the full list of Michigan restaurants featured on the show below, and make sure to visit them at some point. View the full list here.
