Thank You – Meltdown
Here it is, my last shift of another year at WRIF. Man, I didn’t think when I came here in 1995 I’d still be rockin’ RIFF 27 years later, but here we are….and I couldn’t be more grateful!
This year saw things really start to get back to normal. The first sign of that – to me – was the Jack White show on April 8th. Tigers opening day, then off to the Masonic to see Jack. What a show he put on! Of course the concerts returned in full force. I spent many nights at Pine Knob, especially the second half of the season. Oh, and I’m glad “Pine Knob” came back, too.
In the end, this is my final post of the year to just say THANK YOU. Every year you guys treat me so well. Whether it be out at shows or appearances, or on social media. I love the interaction that you guys show towards me. Thank You for all your requests for the daily FourPlay At 4. Yes, I do read them and pick the FourPlay every day off of your suggestions. I apprciate all the kind words on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
THANK YOU to all the artists I had the chance to meet and interview throughout the year. I don’t know if you know this, but I do between 100-125 interviews a year with artists from all over the rock genre. This year I got to interview Blackie Lawless from W.A.S.P. for the first time. Stone Gossard from Pearl Jam, Rachel Bolan and “Snake” Sabo from Skid Row, John Waite, just to name a few I’d never interviewed before. I interviewed Corey Taylor in front of a live audience at Twiztid’s Astronomicon, which was also so much fun!
THANK YOU to everyone I rode my Harley Davidson with, and everyone who came out to Full Throttle Thursdays at Stingers. Thank you to everyone I broke bread with, or shared a cocktail with.
Finally, I have to say THANK YOU to my coworkers. So many of them have helped me out big-time this year. Jade, Anne Erickson, Young Will, Morgan and many, many other….thanks!
To wrap this up, it’s been a fun, fast 27 years…..year 28 coming up!
