My Top Concerts Of 2022 – Meltdown
Here’s some of the top concerts I went to in 2022. So glad they’re back! I think what I missed the most about going to see the shows, was really seeing and hanging with all the fans. I missed not being able to talk about music or our favorite bands. By the way, I can honestly say I didn’t go to a bad concert all year. These are probably the biggest and most exciting.
– Metallica in Pittsburgh. I love road-tripping to see bands. This was one where we left in the morning, got into town, stopped at a few places, ate, went to the show. I mean, Metallica are THE KINGS of live rock. The show was as awesome as you’d expect. A couple bonuses was that I got to meet Metallica’s Blackened Whisky master distiller, Rob Dietrich in person. Rob and I have been “friends” for a few years, but never met. I went to the tasting party..lots of fun. I also got to meet American Picker, Mike Wolfe again. I actually met Mike about 10 years ago as he was walking through the Dream Cruise. I actually blew his cover….I apologized to him for that. LOL
– W.A.S.P. What A Show!! I’ve never seen them before so I was really fired up to see Blackie live. The show smoked! Great songs, great stage setup, great crowd. Really brought back a lot of memories. I did take some pictures, but it was kinda dark so I’m not going to post any here.
– Shinedown. Another great show. The guys dropped their Planet Zero album this past summer, then hit the road. Always great seeing these guys! Crazy to think the first time they came through Detroit on their “Shit Brown Buick” tour was 2003. They drove all across the country stopping at radio stations. I’ll never forget the guys swinging by WRIF and singing ‘Fly From The Inside’, which was a brand new song. Now they sell out Pine Knob!
– Kid Rock….the guys NEVER disappoints. This year I saw him at Soaring Eagle, Cleveland, and Pine Knob. The show, the band, Rock’s energy never fails. Whatever you think of him, he always puts on one hell of a show. I know how hard he works to give the fans their money’s worth.
Also, how could I not include RIFF Fest!
