Iggy Pop Announces New Album, ‘Every Loser’

Michigan punk icon Iggy Pop recently released a new single, “Frenzy,” and now, he’s gearing up to release a new studio album. The set, called “Every Loser,” will drop Jan. 6, 2023.

“Every Loser” marks Pop’s 19th solo album and his first to be released via the recently announced partnership between Atlantic Records and Gold Tooth Records, the new label founded by the album’s GRAMMY Award-winning, multi-platinum executive producer, Andrew Watt, according to a release.

“I’m the guy with no shirt who rocks; Andrew and Gold Tooth get that, and we made a record together the old-fashioned way,” Pop said in a recent statement. “The players are guys I’ve known since they were kids and the music will beat the s*** out of you.”

“Iggy Pop is a f***ing icon. A true original. The guy invented the stage dive..I still can’t believe he let me make a record with him. I am honored. It doesn’t get cooler. This album was created to be played as loud as your stereo will go…turn it up and hold on…” Watt said.

I was in the crowd and photo pit but don’t see myself in the video.

    Eminem filmed a ton of his music videos in Michigan. “Fall” was filmed in Detroit’s Corktown.

  • Halestorm, I Miss the Misery

    It’s so cool that Lzzy Hale and Halestorm filmed their music video for “I Miss the Misery” at The Machine Shop in Flint and other locations in the city! This was back in 2021.

  • Big Sean, Single Again

    “Single Again” was filmed around Detroit, including in Downtown Detroit outside the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center.

  • The Lost Trailers, Holler Back

    Nashville country music band The Lost Trailers shot their music video “Holler Back” in Grand Rapids.

  • Uncle Kracker, Smile

    “Smile” was filmed in Mount Clemens and other Michigan locations.

  • Kid Rock, Born Free

    “Born Free” was shot in Alger County. Kid Rock loves to film videos in Michigan!

  • Big Sean, Guap

    Guap was shot in the middle of a road in Detroit, Michigan. He’s another regular when it comes to filming videos in Michigan and Detroit.

  • Kid Rock, All Summer Long

    “All Summer Long” was filmed in Northern Michigan and shows Kid Rock driving a Grand Craft Grand Sport boat out on Torch Lake.

  • Eminem, Lose Yourself

    The music video for “Lose Yourself” was filmed in Detroit, Michigan, and features shots of the city, including the Ambassador Bridge.

  • Eminem, Good Guy

    Eminem’s “Good Guy” music video was filmed in Grosse Pointe.

    Of course “Detroit Vs. Everybody” was filmed in Detroit. What a collaboration!
