I recently talked with Chad Kroeger, as the new Nickelback record, Get Rolling, drops next Friday. One of the things I talked with him about was the show they played at halftime on Thanksgiving Day, between the Lions and Packers 10 years ago. If you recall, some fans signed an online petition to stop them from preforming. In response, the band made a hysterical video to rebut those fans.

Chad laughed and told me that the band just doesn't take themselves that seriously.

"That's the level to which this band takes themselves serious....no, we're four goofballs. Trying to get us to do anything serious. It's weird, ya know, I think there's been some misrepresentation of this band over the years, because...ya know, we'll be in a photo session, and we're just goofing off, and you've got all these candid shots. And we're laughing, ya know, cry-laughing, just getting all these great shots. And right at the end, it's always the same thing..."Alright, guys, give me a little bit of attitude." So, we all do that thing where we kind of stand there and do one of these (as he gets into a serious look) and that's the picture they use....every single times. It's like 'Look at these douchebags...taking themselves so seriously.' It's such a terrible misrepresentation of the band."

It was a fun interview. You can watch the whole thing below.
