Bush’s Gavin Rossdale Owns a Piece of ‘Hotel California’ and Could Not Care Less – Screamin Scott
Here’s an incredible story of Gavin Rossdale’s visit to a London guitar shop that sells vintage and rare guitars.
Gavin tried many guitars he liked throughout the store untill he came across a purple Fender Jazz Master. Unknown to Gavin, this very guitar once belonged to the one and only Eagles band member Joe Walsh. The Guitar had a part in Rock and Roll history, as this very purple guitar was used in the Eagles’ swansong, “Hotel California!” In 1978, The song won a Grammy Award for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Performance, and Best Rock Performance. The record has been certified 26 x platinum in the U.S. and 32 million worldwide.
It’s a strange story to all this that Gavin is not even close to being a fan of the Eagles. In fact, Gavin had the guitar verified and, yes, the guitar belonged once to Joe Walsh. The guitar was sent back to Gavin with an autograph. Gavin was not happy. “As soon as I saw it, I had to get that s*** off. I’m a professional musician! I don’t give a s***, this is just for my kids to sell when I’m dead… wake up, I don’t care!”
A little bit of Gavin Rossdale history is he used this very purple Fender Jazz Master guitar on Bush’s Debut album, “Sixteen Stone.”
Bush’s New Album, “The Art of Survival,” which also includes the Purple Fender Guitar (with Joe Walsh’s signature taken off) is out in stores now.
