Lions Set New NFL Record

The Detroit Lions didn’t win against the Vikings on Sunday (Sept. 26), but they did manage to set a new NFL record. The record is for scoring a touchdown in 11 straight quarters to start the season.

That record-breaking touchdown happened in the third quarter, when Jamaal Williams nudged the ball into the end zone for a 13-yard rushing TD.

In addition to breaking the record for scoring a touchdown in 11 straight quarters to start a season, the Lions have a streak of 16 straight quarters with a touchdown, which is the longest current streak in the league. It’s nearing the all-time NFL record of 19.

Too bad the Lions didn’t take it one step further and score in the fourth quarter against the Vikings.
