Here in Michigan, we adore our chicken. I mean, it would be difficult to head to any Michigan town and not find at least one chicken restaurant on every corner. Chicken is one of our favorite dishes.
Now, Michigan is getting a new chicken restaurant, and it’s a first for the state. It appears we love our chicken so much that regional spots and chains are starting to move in, and we’re not mad about it.
Raising Cane’s, a restaurant chain which is based out of Louisiana, will open its doors at its first Michigan location in October. The new spot will be located near Michigan State University’s campus at 301 East Grand River Avenue near M.A.C. Street in East Lansing. The Raising Cane’s restaurant will take the place of the former Snap Custom Pizza. According to the chain’s official website, the first Raising Cane’s opened in 1996, so they have a few decades of history making chicken across America. “We were so busy, we stayed open ’til 3:30 a.m.,” the site states. “It was great to work with such a fun, dedicated crew! Thank you to everyone who believed in the vision of Raising Cane’s – to make the highest quality chicken finger meals anywhere.”
Of course, with a new location comes new jobs. The chain is hiring, and according to Raising Cane’s official website, the starting wage is $15 an hour. If you’re looking for some pre-interview research, Raising Cane’s is known for its chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries and Cane’s sauce. Other special items include their coleslaw, Cane’s sauce and Texas toast. Because who doesn’t love the irony of Texas toast from a Louisiana chain that’s now in Michigan? According to the restaurant’s website, a variety of jobs are available for the new location. Those include restaurant cook, cashier, customer service associate and restaurant crew member.
