NFL Expert: ‘Matthew Stafford’s Decline Benefits Detroit Lions’
It’s game day! I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time. Whenever the Super Bowl wraps up, I immediately start to look forward to the next football season.
The L.A. Rams lost big to the Buffallo Bills last week. That said, current Rams and former Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is once again in the news. Stafford was sacked a whopping seven times by the Bills, the most since his days in Detroit. An expert over at SI.com recently posted an article stating that “Matthew Stafford’s decline benefits the Detroit Lions.” How so?
“After the game, many took to social media to state that the Lions now currently possess the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, as Detroit is in possession of the Ram’s first-round draft selection,” Sports Illustrated writer John Maakaron said. He added, “If Stafford continues to struggle, the plight of the Lions will improve, as their second of two first-round draft picks will be that much higher.”
