The Cult Share New Single ‘A Cut Inside’
The Cult have shared another song off their forthcoming album, Under the Midnight Sun. “A Cut Inside” continues with the familiar yet vulnerable tone of the album’s first release, “Give Me Mercy.”
When I sat down with Ian back in July, he gave me a lot of insight into the inspiration for the album. The name was inspired by Ian’s experience at the Provinssirock Festival in Finland. The sun never went down. It was a seemingly endless day. The scene of the festival goers still hanging out, drinking, smoking and having fun at 3 a.m. under the midnight sun stuck with Ian. During the pandemic he was inspired to write the new album after viewing footage of the festival.
The new song “A Cut Inside” continues the theme of staying true to your authentic self.
