Wow! What an album! I wanted to like this record, but I think I like it more than I expected. This record kicks all sorts of ass! With the long three day weekend, I had a chance to dive into this record.....what a smoker!

From the the title track, through "We'll Be Back", this album rips. As with other Megadeth albums, there's a militaristic tone with some of the songs. Songs like "Night Stalkers" featuring Ice-T, to "Soldier On" (which isn't really a military song with the exception of the title) Of course a song like "Junkie" has Dave looking inward, while "Célebutante" touches on throwaway "stars" on social media and beyond. There's lots of thrashing highlights on this record.

The band and production are top notch. Of course, Dave Mustaine, guitarist Kiko Loureiro and drummer Dirk Verbeuren, joined by bassist Steve DiGiorgio temporarily stepped in to record the album.

Here's the song list. My copy didn't come with the cover songs, so I can't comment on them.

1. The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!
2. Life In Hell
3. Night Stalkers (feat. Ice T)
4. Dogs Of Chernobyl
5. Sacrifice
6. Junkie
7. Psychopathy
8. Killing Time
9. Soldier On!
10. Célebutante
11. Mission To Mars
12. We’ll Be Back
13. Police Truck (DEAD KENNEDYS cover)
14. This Planet’s On Fire (Burn In Hell) (Sammy Hagar cover) (feat. Sammy Hagar)

I had Dave Mustaine on my Talkin' Rock podcast a few weeks back. Check it out below.
