You might not have noticed, but bowling is making a huge comeback. Many bowling alleys around the area are noticing a surge of new bowlers! My youth started off bowling in many leagues, and throughout the years, I enjoyed bowling alleys like Pampa Lanes, Continental Lanes, Apollo Lanes, Micelli's, Shores, The Rec Bowl, Bonanza, Ark Sterling and many others.

But one of my favorites is a short drive away to downtown Detroit to the Garden Bowl. It's unmistakably the oldest bowling alley around still in business today. An added bonus is that it's next to Sergeant Pepperoni's Pizzeria. I still have my Hammer bowling ball and shoes, and it's about time I venture out and hit the lanes again sometime soon. Maybe pick up the phone and call some friends and enjoy some good, old-fashioned pin smashing fun.
