This past weekend, Anthrax did a Q&A with fans at the House of Blues in Orlando.
Benante did have some comments about the Pantera reunion tour during the Q&A, including some of the criticism the tour has been facing and, of course, there’s video!

What Megadeth’s Debut Album Almost Sounded Like
David Ellefson announced last week that he’ll be joining other ex-Megadeth members Jeff Young and Chris Poland in October for a 4-stop tour, as The Kings of Thrash, where they’ll be playing the first two Megadeth albums in their entirety.
Ellefson also mentioned that the tempo for many of the songs on Killing is My Business… And Business is Good were originally much slower. “The tempos were much, much slower. In fact, almost at a Black Sabbath tempo,” said Ellefson. “However, one day a fan letter showed up to our mailbox, addressed to Dave, which pleaded, ‘I hope your new band is faster than Metallica,’ and BOOM! That was it…” Just like that Megadeth went from groove to thrash.
Lorna Shore Tour Details
One of the breakout performances from this year’s Lollapalooza was from deathcore outfit Lorna Shore and they’re capitalizing on it currently on their European tour.
They’ll be back in the states this fall with Aborted, Ingested, Angelmaker and Ov Sulfur and hitting St. Andrews Hall on November 16th, just over a month after their new album Pain Remains drops on October 14th.
Phil Anselmo Discusses Pantera Reunion
While everyone has had an opinion on the recently announced Pantera reunion happening in 2023, vocalist Phil Anselmo finally gave his point of view in a recent interview with The Pit.
“Dimebag and Vince always wanted this band to be a legacy band, to be massive and I know Dime and Vince would want the legacy and the name of Pantera to go on and on in everybody’s damn face,” said Anselmo. “That would be their biggest dream.”
Break-in at Brenden Small’s Studio
This past weekend was the Adult Swim Festival Block Party, which featured the first Dethklok show in the last few years and just a few days before Metalocalypse creator Brendon Small discovered his Los Angeles studio had been broken into and was about 12 guitars shy.
He tweeted out descriptions of the missing guitars in the hopes that fans can help him recover them. Small is also knee deep in writing a Metalocalypse feature film.
