Throughout the history of rock and roll, we've had unique names for bands. The first one that comes to mind for me was The Beatles, but instead of spelling it like the bug beetle, they removed an e and replaced it with an a to make Beat. Another strange band name growing up was, who would ever thought there would be a band called The Who? Other bands that puzzled me were the name Alice in Chains or new bands like Falling in Reverse. I guess we could do a pretty good feature of how they got their name.
One band name that took me over 43 years to figure out why they're called what they are is Def Leppard. Now, it's finally been solved the meaning behind the band's name, Def Leppard. It's a pretty unique story. Let me know what band name that you always wondered about!
5 Rock Bands with Multiple Diamond-Certified Studio Albums
A number of bands have one diamond-certified title, and even fewer have more than one. However, there is an elite group of rock bands with multiple diamond-certified studio albums.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has given out a number of diamond certifications to various albums that have sold at least 10 million units. Several of those albums happen to be greatest hits/best-of compilations. Thanks to these releases, this has led to a variety of bands have more than one diamond-certified title.
Believe it or not, there are only five rock bands to have more than one diamond-certified studio albums. That's right, only five.
