The “Old Man Bandit” Caught Robbin’ Banks Again!
A 67-year-old man was arrested for several bank robberies in Maryland, and as it turns out, he’s been at it for 45 YEARS.
His name is Steven Gregory Gass and has been dubbed the “old man bandit.”
He’s been caught multiple times dating back to 1977. This most recent attempt went wrong when he entered the bank and handed the teller a note announcing the robbery. The teller walked away while another teller hit the silent alarm.
Kudos to the Montgomery County Police Department for its work getting a serial bank robber in jail. One of his first reported robberies was in Montgomery County in 1977. https://t.co/laUbjWOzYa @mcpnews pic.twitter.com/JxyOYHfHZg

Gass left the bank without any money but police were already on the way. Officers followed him, pulled him over and arrested him. He’s being held without bond.
