First of all, Happy Independence Day weekend! I wake up fortunate every day to live in the greatest country on the planet.

Secondly, I'm looking forward to next year's Red Wing hockey season. Call me a slappy, or whatever, but I trust in Steve Yzerman. I cannot wait to see what new coach Derek Lalonde has in store for the team, the organization, and the fans. That being said, I always like Jeff Blashill, but a change was due. Let's go Red Wings!

Speaking of our beloved hockey team, Unrivaled on ESPN was everything you thought it would be. The memories of those days of the Red Wings vs. The Avalanche came flooding back. For the life of me, I still can't figure out why Claude Lemieux would come here to Detroit to relive the memory of getting his ass completely kicked! I mean, I guess you have to give him some respect for that, I suppose. When I moved here to Hockeytown from Buffalo, New York, in 1995, I already hated that guy. He was one of the cheapest, direst players I'd ever seen on the ice. A total hack. The thing was, he was a very good player, so I never understood why he had to play the way he did.

Anyways, if you haven't watched the documentary, I highly recommend it.

Have a great weekend!!!
