Al Roker of ‘Today’ is Coming to Michigan
Al Roker of NBC’s “Today” will be in Michigan next week, and you might even spot him at some of the state’s most famous places to grab a hot dog. Michigan, after all, makes a great hot dog.
First, Roker will broadcast live on “Today” on Wednesday (June 29) at Cullen Plaza along the Detroit Riverfront. After the “Today” appearance, Roker will film a special segment about delicious hot dogs for his digital show, “Family Style,” and visit American Coney Island and Detroit CMO. American Coney Island on West Lafayette is a longtime Detroit favorite, having opened back in 1917 by Constantine “Gust” Keros. It’s pretty exciting to think of Roker being in the Motor City. He’s been a fixture on “Today” for years. I even remember seeing him on the show when I visited Rockefeller Plaza in New York City in high school!
A video promoting Roker’s appearance states, “Join Al Roker as he goes live on the TODAY Show from the Detroit Riverwalk on Wednesday, June 29! You can be part of the crowd behind him, just arrive at the carousel at 6:30 a.m. with your COVID-19 vaccination card.”
