  • GWAR Documentary Streaming Soon

    Shudder, AMC’s horror movie streaming service, is bringing GWAR into your living room in July, when it adds the documentary ‘This is GWAR’ to its library. The documentary, which debuted in 2021 at Fantastic Fest in Austin, TX, gives an unprecedented look into all the work behind the scenes that makes a GWAR show undulate, as well as a look into the band’s history. Directed by Scott Barber with appearances by Thomas Lennon, Alex Winter and Weird Al Yankovic, ‘This is GWAR’ makes its streaming global debut on July 21.

  • The Greatest Guitarist Ever, According to Herman Li

    In a recent YouTube interview, Dragonforce guitarist Herman Li gave an unexpected answer when asked who he thought was the best guitar player in the world. ”I say, ‘Well, Kurt Cobain is one of the best guitar players in the world,’ and they just go, ‘oh, my god! What are you talking about? I thought you knew something, Herman!’” Li explained, ”well, he inspired millions of people to play the guitar — he connected with them. So, obviously, the feeling and expression is way more important than how fast and how many notes you can play in key.”

  • The Motörhead Tribute Album

    We reported months ago that the Motörhead tribute record ‘Löve Me Förever: A Tribute to Motörhead’ was due out this summer and it saw release last weekend. The 18-track double-LP features EYEHATEGOD, Mothership, Death By Stereo and more showing love to the music of Lemmy Killmister and kicks off with a roaring cover of Ace of Spades, done by Phil Anselmo, Nick Oliveri and Gary Holt, just to name a few of those involved.
