Firefighters Fight Fire at Legendary Holly Hotel
Firefighters were battling a blaze Tuesday at the historic Holly Hotel in the northern Oakland County village of Holly.
On Facebook, the Holly Moose Lodge posted, “Prayer warriors unite! Building attached to Holly Moose is on fire. (Andy’s) Fenton Fire has ladder truck spraying Holly Moose roof! Pray, pray, pray!”
“Multiple fire departments have responded to the Holly Moose Lodge at 210 S. Broad St., in downtown Holly for a fully involved fire which was first reported at 4 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 21,” the Tri County Times posted on Facebook. “Initial reports indicated the front of the Holly Moose Lodge had caught fire and quickly spread. Additional crews have been requested due to the close proximity to the Holly Hotel on Battle Alley…”
Holly and Fenton fire officials confirmed to the Detroit News that they were helping to put out the flames, but didn’t offer any additional information. Currently, no injuries have been reported.
The Holly Moose Lodge opened back in 1913. It is a member of the fraternal Moose organization.
