I'm a Lions fan, but I was born into it, so it's not like I just discovered them and decided to be a fan one day. As it turns out, the Lions scored some new fans last year, even with a rough season.
A new study from Betway has revealed which NFL teams have experienced the fastest growth in fans online over the last year. In the study, they analyzed follower growth on Instagram over the last 12 months.
The team that had the biggest increase in fans was the Cincinnati Bengals with a growth of 94.68%. Geez! The team with the second-highest increase in fans was the Los Angeles Rams, with a 51.80% increase. I'm guessing that due to lots of Lions fans following Matthew Stafford over to the Rams.
In Detroit, the Lions fanbase grew 11.02% last year. Not too shabby! For more information on the study, go here.
