AAA Tow to Go Giving Michiganders Free Rides Home on St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patrick’s Day week is here, and if you need to get home from a night of heavy drinking, you obviously need to get a ride.
Just like they do during the holidays, AAA is offering a free ride for you and your vehicle. The program, dubbed Tow to Go, is for people who didn’t plan ahead and designate a sober driver, so you can’t book an appointment in advance. AAA will take you home and tow your vehicle home or somewhere within 10 miles. The program is available to people who aren’t even an AAA member.
The service is available from 6 p.m. March 17 until 6 a.m. March 21. Michigan is one of the states where these rides are available, as well as Florida, Iowa, North Dakota, Nebraska, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Colorado. The service is also available in Denver, Colo.; Charlotte, N.C.; and Fort Wayne and South Bend, Ind.
There are some exceptions, such as Tow to Go may not be available in rural areas or when there is severe weather. The service is only available for one passenger per ride because of COVID-19. Masks are required. To use the service, call 855-286-9246.
