If you're single and looking to mingle, Michigan, apparently, is a great spot. Now, many of my single friends would disagree with this statement, but according to the numbers, Michigan is actually one of the best places to meet other singles in America, because one of its suburbs has a lot of single men and women.

The crew at SolitaireBliss.com did the research to determine the suburbs in America that are the best for singles. "It’s not surprising that major metropolitans tend to attract more people. But single people don’t just live within the confines of major cities, there are plenty of singles out in the suburbs, who enjoy games like Solitaire!" they state. They added, "We analyzed US Census Bureau data to find out which major suburbs have the highest percentage of single people, including people who have never been married, and those who are divorced or separated."

Now, a Detroit suburb is getting national attention for being named one of the best for those looking to find love. That suburb is Southfield. According to the report, Southfield is the No. 9 overall city with the most single men and women in the U.S. They're No. 2 for single women and outside the top 10 for single men, which averages out to No. 9 overall.

According to the report, 56.1% of residents in Southfield are single. The five suburbs for singles include Euclid, Ohio; Hoboken, New Jersey; Lakewood, Ohio; Paradise, Nevada; and Hackensack, New Jersey. Additionally, more than half of all residents in 14 different states are single. View the full report here and read on my favorite metal songs about love.
