Snow predictions were a bit off this week, to say the least. Detroit was supposed to get pummeled with up to 18 inches of snow, and while the metro area did get snow, it just wasn't as much as predicted. Other areas of the state were actually supposed to get a dusting of snow and ended up getting hit hard.

So, how much snow did Michigan actually get? The National Weather Service has released snow totals for a range of cities throughout Michigan. You'll find those totals below.

Some cities actually broke snow records. According to the National Weather Service, 11 inches of snow fell at Bishop International Airport in Flint, which broke a record. That total from Wednesday (Feb. 2) is also the 12th highest from a single winter storm system in Flint since records started in 1921. Lansing also set a daily record of 12.9 inches, as recorded by the Lansing Airport.

Here are Michigan snowfall totals via the National Weather Service:

12.9 inches in Lansing
12 inches in Tuscola County's Arbela Township
11.7 inches in Okemos
11.5 inches in Paw-Paw
11.2 inches in Birch Run
11 inches in Kalamazoo
11 inches in Wayland
11 inches in Flint
11 inches in Owosso
10 inches in Battle Creek
10 inches in Grand Blanc
9 inches in Lapeer
8.3 inches in Bridgeport
5.6 inches in Bad Axe
4.5 inches in Saginaw
3.7 inches in Bay City
3.5 inches in Midland

Detroit Radio Jocks Share Their Snow Photos:

The storm of the season is upon Michigan, and Michiganders across the state are sharing their photos of the big snow. Where I live, we weren't expected to get the brunt of the storm- but we did! I'm not a happy camper, since I can't stand snow, but I'll just keep pushing forward to spring.

Even though meteorologists are downgrading their estimates for snow totals with this storm, many area of lower Michigan are still getting 10-11 inches of the white stuff. The worst of the storm is expected to be over by Wednesday night (Feb. 2), but it will take a few days for plows to reach residential areas, so plan to stay home until the snow clears.

One thing is for certain: Michiganders have taken some really cool snow photos of this storm. Check out some wild snow photos from across Michigan below!
