Tom Brady has officially decided to leave the Buccaneers, so who will replace him? Let's be clear that nobody can replace Brady, but someone will obviously have to step into his quarterback role.

ESPN’s Bill Barnwell actually thinks the Buccaneers could have their eyes on Detroit Lions starting quarterback Jared Goff. Barnwell says that Goff is a less expensive option for the Bucs and one that could prove a good fit.

“A less expensive option from the top of the 2016 draft would be Goff, who had an uneven season after being unceremoniously jettisoned to Detroit in the Matthew Stafford trade. Goff’s final numbers — a 67.2% completion percentage, 19 touchdown passes, eight interceptions — look fine, but he averaged just 6.6 yards per attempt and posted a Total QBR of 39.7, right between Taylor Heinicke and Davis Mills,” Barnwell stated.

Barnwell added, “Goff is realistically more of a reclamation project than a plug-and-play starter at this point. It’s clear he has his limitations, but he also has size and a good arm,” Barnwell writes. “When he is playing confidently and has the right players around him, he can produce spectacular numbers, as we saw during his best days with the Rams. Goff is not going to excite Bucs fans, but he might be the best option available at a reasonable price.”

The world is buzzing about Tom Brady's retirement, and now, people are wondering who will replace him.

That has to be a tough job. I mean, replacing Tom Brady will be no easy task for whoever gets the gig.

"The Buccaneers have the 27th and 60th picks in the first two rounds of this year's draft. If Bruce Arians leaves, Tampa Bay will go right back into rebuild mode and will likely trade up to get one of the secondary quarterbacks," Fansided.com says.

In a recent story on ESPN.com, Bill Barnwell suggests that if Tom Brady steps down, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers see trading for Goff as the “best option available at a reasonable price.” Wow!
