Have archaeologists found the very first beer bong? Let's hope so. Let's really hope so.
According to Inverse.com, back in 1897, a Russian archaeologist named Nikolai Veselovsky found some tube-like objects in a huge mound. He theorized they were a sign of high stature, scepters perhaps. But now, archaeologists think they were actually very old beer straws.
In a paper aptly titled “Party Like a Sumerian” published in the journal Antiquity, archaeologists say they are likely ancient beer bongs. Check out more information via Inverse.com here!
